Permission was given for Barranco to wear a red hood to post.
After two false starts, the start was effected successfully from a standing start.
However, having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
The Starter reported that Neigh Botha (IRE) had refused to line up and was withdrawn at 4:44pm.
An enquiry was held to consider the reasons why the winner, Barranco (IRE), had appeared to show improved form on this its first run for the yard compared with its previous run at Market Rasen on 17 January 2025, where the gelding was pulled up.
It was noted that Josh Guerriero could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form other than that the gelding may have benefitted from the first- time application of a tongue tie.
Barranco (IRE) was routine tested.
