The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Archive (FR), ridden by D.J. Mullins, winner and Potters Point, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed second, where it appeared Potters Point suffered slight interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards cautioned D.J. Mullins to be more careful in future. The Stewards interviewed G. O'Sullivan, rider of Ben Bourgas, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (b) in that he had used his whip when his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone, and having taken his record into account, they severely cautioned him.
