Permission was given for Afloat (GB) and Pappa Louis (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider why P J McDonald, the rider of Afloat (GB) placed third, appeared to use his hand in an attempt to encourage his mount during the race after dropping his whip approaching the final half furlong.
The Stewards reminded McDonald of his responsibilities under Rule D(2), that only an approved whip should be used to encourage a horse during a race.
The performance of Me And Bobby Mcgee (GB), which finished fifth, beaten 25¾ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that Charlie Johnston could offer no explanation for the colt’s poor performance.
The Veterinary Officer examined Me And Bobby Mcgee (GB) post-race during routine testing and had nothing to report.
