Permission was given for Jack Sparrow Grey (FR) to wear a red hood to post.
After an initial false start, the start was effected successfully on the second attempt.
However, having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
On the second attempt, the Starter reported that there had been a malfunction with the starting tape mechanism, so permission was given for a flag start to be used.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Extraordinary Man (FR), placed fifth, had lost its right-fore shoe.
