Royal Charm just gets home

Royal Charm was made the odds-on favourite for the A.P. McCoy 15 Times Champion Jockey Graduation Chase at Exeter but victory looked far from likely two from home.

Sports Line had taken the field along at a good gallop under Jason Maguire on his first run for Donald McCain but the writing was on the wall for him at the second last as his early exertions told.

Royal Charm was well placed to take advantage having jumped slickly in the main but Tom Scudamore was motionless aboard the David Pipe trained Leo's Lucky Star who appeared to be travelling far the better of the pair.

Leo's Lucky Star was about a length up jumping the last but Daryl Jacob, a late replacement for the incapacitated Noel Fehily, got a great tune out of Royal Charm who stuck his head down to score by a head and make it two out of two over fences.
