G.F. Carroll, rider of Alphecca, trained by Joseph G. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take a check three furlongs from the finish
R.L. Moore, rider of Drop Dead Gorgeous, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he didn't get a clear run. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the report the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately three furlongs from the finish involving Alphecca, ridden by G.F. Carroll, and Killashee Warrior (GB), ridden by J.A. Powell where it appeared Alphecca checked on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. G.F. Carroll stated that the pace was strong and he was comfortable on the inside but as the horses move to the intersection they lose space on the inner and he took a check. J.A. Powell stated that he kept straight but the rail came out to meet them and he just held his line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
