He doesn't like it tacky, and it was a big worry coming here. He would be happier on ground that is getting softer rather than ground that is drying. Simon said they weren't going that deep in it which was a big help. Anything between soft and yielding he is fine on. It is great that he gets through it, and he loves it around here which is a big help. Simon was a lot happier with the way he jumped. We might come back here next month for the Listed race that he actually ran in last year. We'll see what the handicapper does with him and see what Frank (Berry) says. It looks like a good option for him. This season has been going great with him. He was a bit disappointing last season, but this season he is really back to himself and we have got a clear run with him. He is running away as well as expected.

going up in trip and that better ground is what he wanted. It was holding ground in Leopardstown the last day, which he doesn't like, and I'd say he would probably go on better ground again. That trip (2m6f) give us options now and he has just taken a while to learn to settle before his races. He is A1 once he is going, but used to run his race before he ran. He is doing everything well now. We'll get him home, see how he is and we'll make a plan from there. His owners (Sandra and Peter McCarthy) picked this race out, so deserve the credit.

I’m delighted with that. He’s not over big and hopefully the handicapper isn’t too hard on him,. He gave him a lovely ride. He’s in great form and he’s a well-bred horse. He’s a smashing horse, a grand horse to have, and there’s more left in him, he’s only seven. We’ll probably run him over hurdles in Listowel, there is a race in Killarney for him as well. I thought the trip was short but once I saw the withdrawals, knew the race had half-fallen apart. He loves that ground and it takes a fair one to jump with him as he is an unbelievable jumper. He is better going left-handed and we're going back to Cheltenham in three weeks' time. He had been eligible for an amateur riders' chase that day but has won too far today, although I think Danny did that on purpose, to keep the ride! He might now get in off bottom weight in the 3m1f William Hill Handicap Chase. I have 20 horses for the track this winter, have between 10 and 12 for point-to-points and buying and selling is all part of my job.

He loves those conditions and stays really well,. That’s his second time winning around here too. I’m delighted that he’s been able to handle those couple of jumps up in grade. Phillip said it inconvenienced him bypassing the second last. He’s got a good mark over fences so hopefully he’ll be grand going forward. I'm absolutely delighted and while everyone says it about horses, he really deserved it,. Since we bought him from Benny and Jenny Walsh in Wexford he has been a superstar for us and just ran into a few good ones and Falcon Eight here on his last run. He has taken his time to come this year, he is a laid-back horse at home and probably wasn't fit enough earlier on when I thought he probably was. He has come to himself in the last couple of weeks. Charlie kicked on quite early on him but I said it to him to do that, as I'd rather he did that and got beaten, as he is a real Navan or Naas horse and stays and his jumping is super. He is a smashing horse to have and I won't over-tax him for the rest of the season and he'll go chasing October time. Chasing will hopefully be his game. Hugo (Kane) his owner is an unbelievable man and if you want to buy a horse, you just ring him and he doesn't question you. He goes racing every day, goes anywhere to watch his horses and for the likes of myself, we need to have an owner like him. He owns six of his own and is involved in other horses in my yard.
