Alparslan is a lovely colt and we purposely left him for this race after he won his maiden. He’d improved a lot on that, and we’ll throw him into black type races now and see how high we can take him. It was the same at Leicester over seven, he was doing his best work at the end. He’s a lovely big colt. He’s workmanlike at home, he’s not a speed horse, but you never know until you get those horses onto the track and see what is under the engine. He could go for the Horris Hill at the backend in Newbury. He obviously handles a bit of cut in the ground as well. there are some great trainers over here and some great horses, but you’ve got to take them on and should never be afraid of getting beat. I don’t understand why a lot more UK trainers don’t give it a go. There is good prizemoney, particularly this weekend. I love travelling horses and like the challenge of taking on the great trainers whether it be here or in France or wherever. It’s all part of life — you have to give it a go. K R Burke, trainer

By agreement with the Raceday Stewards all riders from this race were invited into the Stewards room to review the video footage from this race. Advice was given by Senior Stipendiary Steward Liam Walsh for all riders to ride with more awareness and consideration for each other throughout the rest of the day, paying particular attention to the tightness with which the riders were riding.

For two years old only which had been sold or bought in under the hammer at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale of 24th, 25th and 26th September, 2024 and the Tattersalls Ireland Sapphire Sale of 14th November 2024 and had been declared by Tattersalls (Ireland) Ltd. as eligible to be entered and run in accordance with the relevant Conditions of Sale. Horses which do not have a registered name and have not been recorded as Racing Active with a Licensed Trainer by Wednesday 30th July, 2025 (or if entered from a Foreign Racing Authority named and recorded with a Licensed Trainer) will be automatically struck out of this race. (Please note for un-named horses trained in Ireland which were foaled in Britain or Ireland an acceptable naming application should be made to HRI by Thursday, 24th July, 2025 and for all other un-named horses, naming forms should be submitted earlier as the naming process will take longer)
