On this week’s Irish Angle show, Emma Nagle was joined by Paddy Flood and journalist Johnny Ward to discuss the excitement around the former jumps superstar and his transition to the Flat. A weak race is his for the taking Johnny Ward spoke of his potential to be Group class: “We have to get used to Constitution Hill being kept to the Flat now. A horse of his profile, with a point-to-point background, at his age, I don’t know what Group class he’ll reach on the Flat, but certainly some level of Group class. “This looks like a step along the ladder. It looks like a weaker race than last time. He’s facing a Ulysses-bred, once-raced maiden winner we haven’t seen in a while, who could be okay. So it should be a piece of work for him. “There’s something cool about the notion of Ryan Moore arriving on the bridle on Constitution Hill two furlongs down, even on the all-weather. “Regardless of the circus around him, whether he should or shouldn’t be doing this, it’s very hard not to be somewhat in love with this racehorse.” Ryan Moore in the saddle Emma Nagle mentioned she’s looking forward to the post-race interviews with Ryan Moore who doesn’t tend to get caught up in the Constitution Hill circus. Paddy Flood added: “Gary O’Brien asked Ryan Moore about Constitution Hill at the weekend - was he looking forward to him - and he just got a bit of a grunt. “Ryan Moore’s first ever winner was over hurdles, so why not let him have a pop around on Constitution Hill and see how it goes? “Maybe school him on the way to the start and get a feel for him! “We’ve had the circus around Constitution Hill all winter, and it looks like it's going to continue through the summer as well. “I don’t know what to make of it, but he should come out and win on Wednesday. It looks a bit of a nothing race. “I don’t think Ryan will be jumping off like Frankie Dettori on Wednesday.” Emma Nagle responded: “I’d say Ryan’s more looking forward to Constitution River now than Constitution Hill in a few months' time. “But we’ve had five months of Constitution Hill, who doesn’t love it?”
