27 declared for Pierse Hurdle

Twenty-seven horses were today declared for the Eur130,000 Pierse Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The Grade A hurdle over two miles has tempted six of the top British-based Irish jockeys back to Dublin for the day.

Champion jockey Tony McCoy partners Doonaree for last year`s winning trainer Pat Hughes, with Adrian Maguire on stable companion Lawz.

Norman Williamson rides Vatirisk for Edward O`Grady while Noel Meade has booked Mick Fitzgerald for Fruit Defendu.

Tony Dobbin will partner Spirit Of Park for Michael O`Brien, while Timmy Murphy completes the six on the bottom weight Best Wait for Tom Hogan.

Maguire (Linden`s Lotto) and Murphy (Clash Of The Gales) have rides in the main supporting race, the Eur100,000 Pierse Leopardstown Handicap Chase.

Weights for the three-mile contest are headed by Ted Walsh`s smart chaser Rince Ri.
