Admiral Fancied To Be Fleet-Footed In Eclipse

Admiralofthefleet looks set to be all the rage for the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown tomorrow after he was confirmed as the mount of Mick Kinane.

The big-race sponsors shortened the three-year-old to 14-1 from 16-1 after Seamus Heffernan, not Kinane, was booked to partner mercurial stablemate George Washington.

'When it comes to major races, Mick Kinane is one of the most popular riders with punters and I fully expect Admiralofthefleet to go off a single-figure price on Saturday,' said Coral spokesman Simon Clare.

'We have laid 33s, 25s and 16s, and he is our worst result in the ante-post book.'

George Washington was something of a surprise inclusion at the final declaration stage for the Group One contest.

Aidan O´Brien had indicated his star miler could bypass the 10-furlong event following the monsoon-like weather.

However, Coral keep George Washington as the 4-1 second-favourite, particularly as the bookmakers are now offering non-runner no-bet.

'Heffernan has already proved himself a top-class jockey in the making and the fact he has been given the mount on George Washington will make little material difference to his price if he takes his chance,' added Clare.

O´Brien also has outsider Yellowstone and 16-1 Archipenko in the race and that pair will be ridden by Colm O´Donoghue and Fran Berry respectively.

Authorized, who is trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam, still dominates the market and is the red-hot 1-2 favourite with Coral.

Last year´s runner-up Notnowcato is a 5-1 chance for Sir Michael Stoute while the eight-strong line-up is completed by Clive Brittain´s outsider Kandidate and the Mark Johnston-trained Champery, who will act as pacemaker for Authorized.
