Agouti Bear bags Sligo's opener

Agouti Bear (3/1) scored on her seasonal reappearance today, landing Sligo’s opening Download The Tote App Fillies Maiden for trainer Danny Murphy and jockey Jamie Powell.

Carrying the colours of the Kildare Racing Syndicate & Brogue (Tuam) Racing Club, Agouti Bear acted up prior to entering the stalls for today’s race but made all the running to score by 2.5 lengths from Shoney

Murphy reported “she was weak last year and I’d sold her to go to America after her first run, but the boys changed their minds so I’m glad they did.

“She’s still a bit green but did that well. She’s developed and I like that stallion, Kodi Bear. There is a €45,000 handicap over six furlongs at Naas next Saturday which we might enter her in.”
