Aintree Day 1 NAP and NB: 'He’s been a brilliant horse for owner JP McManus' It’s all happening in the world of horse racing at the moment - one minute we have Derby, Oaks, and Guineas entries, the next we’re looking at Aintree declarations. Aintree NAP Day 1 One horse that caught my eye for Day 1, and he’s a big price so I’m willing to take the risk and nap him, is Jasko Des Dames for the Henry de Bromhead team. Jasko Des Dames is a horse I have a great time for, and I’ve enjoyed following him over fences. The key to this horse is 2 miles and quick ground. It looks like Aintree is a track that will definitely play to his strengths. I’m sure Darragh O’Keeffe will make sure he is on the pace, and he’s an excellent jumper, which will help him hold his position. I thought he ran a brilliant race when he finished fifth at the Cheltenham Festival, and he jumped the last in front of the winner. That tacky Cheltenham ground probably hindered him ever so slightly. I think the conditions of this race will suit him, and he is actually running off a pound less, which I feel will only help his chances even more. Aintree Next Best Day 1 My next best for Day 1 is a horse I have all the time in the world for because he always runs his race. Its On The Line was second for the fourth time at the Cheltenham Festival - you read that right, the fourth time. He’s been a fabulous horse through the years, and he looks to retain his 2024 crown in this race. He faces off against Barton Snow, and I just feel that with the length of the straight available after the last at Aintree, it will suit Its On The Line more. He’s a horse that does not stop galloping. He’s been a brilliant horse for owner J. P. McManus, although frustrating, but I feel he definitely has the ability to win a race of this calibre.
