After 3m7f, there was only a short head between the first two home in the Colm Quinn BMW Handicap Chase with Aione (5/1) holding on from Sir Bob

A winner at Cork over Easter, lightly-raced ten-year-old Aione moved into contention under Danny Mullins after the third-last and was ridden clear between the final two fences. Sir Bob, as he had done at Fairyhouse last time, finished with a rattle but his effort just came up short. History Of Fashion was a further two and a half lengths away in third.

It was winner number 15 of the festival for Willie Mullins.

Patrick Mullins said:- “It's brilliant for Danny, he's been riding out of his skin all season.

“Rich (Ricci) has been very patient with the horse as he missed a lot of time through injury.”
