Alainn Sidelined

Cailin Alainn is likely to be out of action for around three months after suffering an overreach when running at Galway last month.

The talented mare sustained the injury when she finished unplaced behind Larkwing after being sent off the 9-4 favourite in a Flat race over a mile and three-quarters.

'Hopefully she'll back next February,' said trainer Charles Byrnes.

'She gave herself an overreach. It's coming good now, but it will be mid-February or March time before we can run her.'

The eight-year-old won six races on the bounce, culminating in two Grade One successes.

However, her winning sequence came to a end when falling in two races at Cheltenham ? the Letheby And Christopher Chase won by Exotic Dancer in January and at the Festival in the Royal & SunAlliance Chase won by Denman.
