All systems go in Katiyra camp for Epsom Oaks Connections of John Oxx´s Katiyra have reported the filly in excellent shape for Friday´s Juddmonte Oaks at Epsom. The filly made a winning debut at Leopardstown last August, and lost little in defeat when going down by just half a length in the Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial on her reappearance this year. Pat Downes, racing manger to owner the Aga Khan, said: "Everything has gone well since her last run at Leopardstown and John could not be happier with her. "She didn´t break well that day so she was never in the right position but we were pleased to see her finish her race off so well." Despite stepping up another half mile on Friday, Downes is confident the trip should not pose any problems. "She is a very straightforward filly and her dam won over a mile and six furlongs so she should stay this trip," Downes added. "That said, her half-sister could only stay seven furlongs so that has to be at the back of our minds but we will know for sure after Friday. "Her inexperience is the main worry but she is certainly a very nice filly and we are looking forward to it."
