Go Another One made the perfect start over fences, as he took the Camida Beginners Chase, continuing the good run of form of the John McConnell yard (five winners in the last ten days).
Second on debut in a point-to-point back in the summer of 2016, the son of Stowaway has since excelled over flights, winning a Grade 3 at Thurles and a Listed contest at Perth.
He was last seen finishing a highly respectable fifth to Minella Indo in the Grade 1 Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival.
Expected to deliver this evening, the Caroline Ahern owned seven-year-old was sent off the clear 5/6 favourite under Sean Flanagan.
Settled behind the leaders, he jumped well in the main, and took closer order from the third last.
A brilliant jump at the next saw him emerge in front, and another flawless leap at the last virtually sealed the deal, as he kept on well to score by a length and a quarter. Plan Of Attack (5s to 7/2) had to settle for second under Barry O'Neill for Henry de Bromhead, while Invincible Cave (10/1) was another four lengths back in fourth.
McConnell said afterwards: "To be honest, I was like Henrietta Knight there - I didn't watch much of it because this is my star.
"Sean said they hacked and then they sprinted, which wouldn't have really suited him. But he said he felt classy and it would have been a great education for him. That's what we came here for, and the ground on the chase track is lovely - I'm delighted, relieved.
"He's not extravagant but he's very clever. He said he was down into the boards all the way but when you needed him, he had loads of scope. You have to pick your times when you want the scope from him because if you go too early for scope he'll go into the boards.
"But he's a lovely horse, we all know that. I haven't got a plan, but we'll go for a novice chase. It could be in Perth, could be in Ireland, and we might end up in Galway or Listowel, and then we'll have a winter's break. We'll see how the summer has gone before we make the spring plan.
"It wasn't a bad beginners' chase for the time of year - there was plenty of 125/127 hurdlers in it, so he wasn't two stone clear on weights over hurdles, so it was nice to see him do it."
STEWARDS REPORT
A. McCurtin, rider of Daring Decree trained by Norman Lee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very keen.
C.D. Maxwell, rider of Drimsree Lad trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and jumped left.
