Beau set for Sandown outing Beau will be Nigel Twiston-Davies`s only runner in next Saturday`s attheraces Gold Cup at Sandown and has been described by his trainer as being 'better than ever'.The gelding was a casualty in this month`s Martell Grand National when he unseated Carl Llewellyn at the 14th fence.Twiston-Davies is in no doubt that Beau would have gone close to beating his own winner Bindaree and said: 'The horse is in tremendous form and did the entire course in the National without coming under pressure. In fact he won the race but as a loose horse and has come out of it as fresh as paint.'The nine-year-old was fifth behind Ad Hoc in last year`s contest after winning the race in 2000 and Twiston-Davies believes it was the tiring ground which beat him in the then Whitbread Gold Cup.The trainer added: 'He was a novice when he won the Whitbread in 2000 but last season a combination of top weight in very heavy ground caused his undoing. I`d be quite happy if the weather remained dry this week as we know he`s effective when it`s on top.'
