Better Show Expected From Proclamation Godolphin are hoping for a much better showing from Proclamation in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. After a difficult start to the campaign, Godolphin's season was kick-started when Librettist won the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville in August. The four-year-old, who has only been beaten once in his eight-race career, then followed up with another Group One win in the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp. His recent form is in stark contrast to that of Proclamation, whose one run this season saw him finish third in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot when the string was out of form. However, the latter showed himself to be a colt of the highest calibre last year when he won the Sussex Stakes for Jeremy Noseda against his elders.'They are both very well and in good form,' said Godolphin's racing manager Simon Crisford.'We hope the ground doesn't dry out too much for them, but they are in excellent shape and we are looking for big runs from both of them.'At the moment we are favouring Librettist because he is on a roll and he is doing really well. Frankie (Dettori) wants to ride him and we agree with that ? he is doing extremely well at the moment,' Crisford told Racing UK.'But Proclamation, to our minds anyway, is much better now than when he ran at Royal Ascot. At that time everything was going horribly wrong and we knew that. But right now he seems to be doing very well, so we hope we can see a little bit of his old sparkle on Saturday.'(C) PA Sport
