Big-Race Success No Pipedream

John Gosden's Pipedreamer continues to attract the cash ahead of his bid for glory in Saturday's totesport.com Cambridgeshire.

Owned by Cheveley Park Stud, the upwardly-mobile three-year-old has been cut half a point to 9-2 by William Hill, although the race sponsors continue to offer 5-1 along with the likes of Ladbrokes and Coral.

The son of Selkirk has won three of his last four races and ran out a most impressive winner of a well-contested race at Goodwood in August.

As the highest-rated member of the Classic generation still engaged in the nine-furlong cavalry charge, connections know Pipedreamer faces a stern examination against some battle-hardened foes.

However, Chris Richardson, managing director for owners Cheveley Park Stud, said: 'John has done a terrific job and though Pipedreamer is climbing up the handicap, he keeps on surprising us.

'He was such a big, sloppy horse last year but John has allowed him to find his feet.

'Pipedreamer, who comes from the same family as Echelon, could not have been more impressive at Goodwood ? so we have to be hopeful,' he told www.newmarketracecourses.com.

And those interested in trends may be keen to know Pipedreamer's second victory this year came at Pontefract, in the same race won by Formal Decree on his way to Cambridgeshire glory last season.
