Blue Square, new sponsors of La Touche Cup.

A new €50,000 bonus is up for grabs for cross-country racehorse owners. Bookmakers, Blue Square, are taking up the reins as sponsors of the Irish racing spectacular the La Touche Cup, Punchestown´s renowned cross-country race in April.

Blue Square is offering €50,000 bonus to the racehorse owner who wins both the Blue Square La Touche Cup, worth €25,000 in its own right, and the Cheltenham Festival cross-country race in March with the same horse.

The Blue Square La Touche Cup takes place on Thursday 28th April at the internationally renowned Punchestown Festival. The Festival attracts over 80,000 guests over the four days and offers €2 million in prize money. The racecourse has benefited from over €20m invested in the site over the last five years.

In addition, Blue Square are sponsoring the Blue Square 1800 905050 Hurdle on the Wednesday. The new sponsorships provide Blue Square with the ideal platform to increase awareness of their brand and to mark the launch of their new dedicated phone betting service to the lucrative Irish market.

Risk of Thunder is the horse most associated with the La Touche Cup; the Sean Connery-owned horse won the race on seven occasions and is now enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Both cross-country courses are over four miles and include a challenging mix of 'normal' NH fences, banks, walls, hedges and ditches.
