Butler's Back At Sandown

Butler's Cabin, likely to be Tony McCoy's next big hope for an elusive success in the John Smith's Grand National, continues his preparation at Sandown on Saturday.

The Irish National and Cheltenham Festival winner has been declared for the totesport Masters Handicap Chase with Mick Fitzgerald in the plate while McCoy continues his recovery from injury.

There was little wrong with Butler's Cabin's first run since his Fairyhouse success when third to the top-class Jack The Giant in a conditions event at Leicester over a trip short of his best.

Trainer Jonjo O'Neill said: "He is in good form and I am happy with him.

"He ran well at Leicester last time and was staying on nicely at the end.

"The step up in trip will suit him, as will the Sandown hill.

"Mick Fitzgerald rides as Noel (Fehily) is going to Doncaster and if he has come on from Leicester then you would expect him to be thereabouts.

"He is a horse who needs running so he will have one or two more starts before the Grand National."

The eight-year-old is as low as 11-1 for the Aintree showpiece with Stan James and BetDirect.
