Cane Brake back in John Durkan Long-term absentee Cane Brake will make his return in Sunday's John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase. After moving from David Wachman's yard to Tom Taaffe in 2006, the gelding put up winning performances in both the Troytown and Paddy Power Chases before he finished fifth behind Kauto Star in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. That was to be Cane Brake's final high point as he was pulled-up when attempting to carry a giant weight in the Irish National. "He's down to run on Sunday," said Taaffe. "He just had a problem after the Irish National but he seems to have found his form now and he's going well. It's going to be difficult for him in handicaps so we'll see how he gets on."
