Cat Geared Towards Belmont Return Discreet Cat is on course to have a prep race for the Breeders' Cup later this month.The four-year-old is reported to be working well after recovering from a throat abscess that caused him to run badly in the Dubai World Cup at Nad Al Sheba in March.That was Discreet Cat's first defeat in seven starts, with the 2006 UAE Derby winner's campaign geared towards the Breeders' Cup at the end of October.He has three possible options ? the Sprint (over six furlongs), the Dirt (over a mile) and the Classic (mile and a quarter) ? and connections will know more after he has run in the Grade One Vosburgh Stakes over six furlongs at Belmont on September 30.'We gave him plenty of time after the World Cup. He's doing well and he's back in training,' said trainer Saeed bin Suroor.'He looks happier now with age. He is stronger physically and mentally. The plan is to run him on the 30th of this month in a six-furlong race at Belmont.'He has always shown plenty of speed but when he is settled and relaxed you can take him to a mile and further.'He has the three options in the Breeders' Cup, but we will see how he runs first.'I am really happy with him and he has been finishing his work really well.'Discreet Cat travelled with the rest of the American Godolphin team to Belmont Park on Wednesday, having spent six weeks in Saratoga.(C) PA Sport
