Cat Primed For Saturday Comeback

Discreet Cat will run in the Vosburgh Stakes at the weekend after a pleasing workout on Monday.

Godolphin's four-year-old has recovered from a throat abscess that was responsible for his Dubai World Cup flop and is now set for the Grade One at Belmont on Saturday.

'I would say this is not the easiest comeback race in the world,' said Rick Mettee, trainer Saeed bin Suroor's New York-based assistant.

'He's certainly done enough work to where he is fit, sound, and going into the race in good condition.

'Obviously, we're getting near the end of the year where we can't be too picky about choosing a comeback.

'It's a Grade One, and Saeed feels and Godolphin feels that he needs to establish himself in Grade Ones again.

'It will be good to get him back in a big race and in the national spotlight again.'

Prior to his no-show at Nad Al Sheba in March, Discreet Cat won his first six starts by margins no less than three and a quarter lengths.
