Cecil Among Yorkshire Cup Possibles

Percussionist and Sergeant Cecil are set to cross swords again after the pair featured among 11 confirmations for Friday´s Emirates Airline Yorkshire Cup.

The duo, trained by Howard Johnson and Rod Millman respectively, were separated by three lengths in the one-mile-six-furlong feature at York last term.

However, Percussionist failed to sparkle in one more start on the level before embarking on a chasing career while Sergeant Cecil went from strength to strength, eventually landing the Group One Prix du Cadran at Longchamp.

The James Eustace-trained Orcadian was a six-length third in 2006 and he is also on course to try his luck again this time.

Rising Cross, placed in both the English and Irish Oaks last term, could make her seasonal bow for John Best while Allegretto could represent Sir Michael Stoute.

John Dunlop´s Mount Kilimanjaro and the Barry Hills-trained The Last Drop could renew rivalry after finishing first and second in a Nottingham Listed contest earlier in the season.

Both Dunlop and Johnson have second strings to their bows in Munsef and Kasthari, while Bulwark and Geordieland complete the possibles.
