Chablis Rock completes cross card four-timer for Joseph O'Brien Chablis Rock completed a cross card four-timer for Joseph O'Brien and a double for Declan McDonogh, as she easily accounted for six rivals in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden. A runner-up on her return at the Curragh and fitted with a tongue-strap for the first time this afternoon, the Michael O'Flynn-owned bay was returned the clear favourite at 4/9 (touched 1/1 early). Racing in second before improving to lead on the approach to the straight, the Irish Oaks entry extended her advantage when ridden with over a furlong to go, ultimately coming home four-and-a-half lengths to the good. Newcomer Benaki (11/1) filled the runner-up spot under Paddy Harnett for Donnacha O'Brien. Kevin Blake, representing the winning trainer, said: "She handled the ground well and while she is by Sioux Nation, she stays well. She is a big, slow-strider and Decky kept it simple and she won well. "It was only a middle-of-the-road maiden but she now has a winning bracket. You'd love to find blacktype at some stage with her but we'll go for a handicap now. She has the size and scope to improve." He then added: "Joseph's are really flying and while he hasn't pushed his horses to do this so early in the season, it has just happened which is great. Usually you'd be expecting them to start coming around the Guineas Weekend meeting but they are ahead of schedule and you'd hope they keep coming." O'Brien was earlier successful with Electric Night, while Thundering On and Obscenity were his winners at Navan. STEWARDS REPORT D.P. McDonogh, rider of Chablis Rock, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout. Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
