Change of Luck for Leahy and Gallagher

Former jockey Denis Leahy trained his second winner under Rules when Garryduff East got up to deny 2/7 favourite, The Ethiopian, in the Sporting Press Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel. Pierce Gallagher was aboard the 16/1 shot. It was a change of fortune for Leahy and Gallagher, who combined with Rolling Rocky, a fatal faller at Cork last Friday evening. Paul Magee, member of the Vivalasvegas Syndicate, owners of The Ethiopian, tragically lost his battle with Motor Neuron disease at the weekend and was buried today.
