Chris Kinane Remains Critical

Chris Kinane, assistant trainer to Ian Williams, remains in a critical condition after receiving a kick to the head in the parade ring at Wolverhampton on Saturday night.

Kinane was about to give jockey Jamie Spencer a leg-up onto a runner from Williams´ stable when another another horse lashed out and caught him on the head.

The 48-year-old was knocked unconscious and was taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton before being transferred to Birmingham´s Queen Elizabeth Hospital later on Saturday night.

He underwent an operation and is now being looked after in the hospital´s neuro-critical care unit.

A hospital spokeswoman today said: 'Chris Kinane remains critical.'
