Christmas cheer for Casey and Morris

The Turf Club's Appeals & Referrals Committee have today reduced David Casey's seven-day ban to just two, freeing him to take the ride on Sackville in the Ericsson Chase at Leopardstown next Friday.

Casey had feared he would miss the ride after being suspended for seven days for insufficient effort on His Song at Navan last Saturday.

Although his appeal was dismissed, the three-man committee agreed to reduce the ban, which now applies only to St. Stephen's Day (Wednesday) and Thursday.

Mouse Morris had his 'using the racecourse as a training ground' conviction quashed and his Ir#500 fine was withdrawn. In addition, the 42-day ban imposed on His Song was also lifted.
