Cooldine ready for chasing career

Willie Mullins is keeping his options open for Cooldine as he prepares to embark on a campaign over fences.

The six-year-old developed into a high-class hurdler last season, winning five on the bounce before finishing fourth behind Blazing Bailey in the World Series Hurdle at Punchestown.

He holds a couple of possible engagements, at Thurles on Thursday and Gowran Park at the weekend, as well as an entry in the Drinmore Novices Chase on November 30th.

Mullins said: "He's schooled well. Last season we thought we'd put him over hurdles just to let him mature.

"We think he'll make a better chaser than a hurdler, but it doesn't always work out that way.

"I've entered him in a few races, but haven't looked at the entries yet, so I haven't made any plans."

Cooldine is as short as 12-1 with Coral for the Royal & SunAlliance Chase at Cheltenham.
