Phillip Enright is undoubtedly operating at the top of his game at present, with the Co. Kerry pilot using all his prowess to get Fire Coral (7/2jf) home in front in the Randox Handicap Hurdle.

After their success in the third with Wing Back Enright and Sam Curling were completing a double in this extended two-mile five-furlong contest.

Third and fourth in two starts since joining his Co. Tipperary based handler, the Sea The Stars six-year-old raced mainly in third today, taking closer order in second on the run to the penultimate flight.

Blundering at that obstacle, she was again far from fluent over the last, with the whip soon drawn on this 76-rated bay.

Finding that little bit extra in the closing stages, she ran down Tiny Angel in the dying strides, with just a neck between them at the line.

The runner-up was returned at 9/2 under Conor Stone-Walsh for Noel Kelly, while recent course and distance winner Georgia Celena who was the other joint-favourite, was another four-and-a-quarter lengths back in third.

"We got her from Cormac Farrell and she had good runs for him too," Curling said of the Keep It Pucked Out Syndicate-owned victor.

"She hasn't improved much, but I'd say the trip today suited her ideally - Two (miles) two (furlongs) that day (third here) and then three miles (fourth in Wexford). I'd say that was her right trip.

"She was always going to get her day. She's tough and she jumped well today, she missed the second last Phillip said.

"I'm delighted she won, she belongs to a syndicate from down near me at home. There's a few of them on holidays.

"Phillip is riding brilliantly there at the minute."

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Raceday Stewards interviewed P.T. Enright, rider of Fire Coral (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that P.T. Enright was in breach of Reg.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.
