22/1 chance Giselles Aussie turned over the 2/5 favourite Chestnutter in theIrish EBF Auction Series Fillies Maiden.

Held up in rear by Gary Carroll, the daughter of Australia improved down the outside approaching the final furlong.

She had a good tussle with the Colin Keane-ridden market leader in the final hundred yards and got up on the line to score by a head.

Bought for E25,000 as a yearling, the Gavin Cromwell-trained winner is a half-sister to a dual 6f winner in Britain.

Gary Carroll said: “I picked up like I was going to get there and then Colin's horse rallied. To be fair, so did my horse.

“She ran in a barrier trial but was like a rabbit in the headlights with the kickback and she never got going.

“Today she jumped and travelled. I picked up well and thought I was going to go and win well enough but she was green enough when I got into the clear.

“She battled well and is a good genuine filly. A step up in trip should bring improvement and she loved the bit of nice ground.

“The second horse's form was fairly strong. We were green and I'd have no problem taking them on again, I think we'll improve plenty.”
