Curlin Simply Awesome In Dubai Curlin is as short as 1-2 favourite with Coral for the Dubai World Cup on March 29 after barely breaking sweat to win his prep race at Nad Al Sheba. Steve Asmussen´s Breeders´ Cup Classic winner was not expected to have too much trouble winning the Jaguar Trophy but on his first start for 124 days, the ease with which he brushed aside his rivals was frightening. Settled wide in the early stages by Robby Albarado, the four-year-old eased into contention turning into the straight and won as he liked in a time not far outside the track record, set by the great Dubai Millennium. "What a horse - and what a privilege to ride him," said Albarado of the world´s top-rated horse. "He was a bit keen early on but soon settled and has then done it very easily. There is plenty to come I am sure and I could not be more pleased with that." Asmussen added: "Everything has gone to plan since we left home and that was the next stage. "I was very pleased with the way he settled and it was a good performance as we have left lots to work on. It is over a month until the World Cup and that is the target, obviously. "He should come on for that but is now used to the surface and lights here. He is a great horse to train." (C) PA Sport
