Curragh And Ascot On The Agenda For Hill

Tracey Collins has some of the top two-year-old prizes in mind for her smart juvenile Pencil Hill after his comfortable success at the Curragh.

Yet another smart juvenile from first-season sire Acclamation, the colt followed up a debut victory over six furlongs when dropping back to the minimum distance in the Listed Isabel Morris Stakes.

After struggling to go the early gallop, he picked up in fine style to win going away by one and three-quarter lengths.

'He is a smart two-year-old,' admitted Collins. 'We´ll be considering Ascot for him but he also holds an entry in the Railway Stakes (July 1 at the Curragh).

'He won over six on his debut so for him to go back and win over five was a good effort. That´s not his trip though so we will be stepping him back up.

'Pat (Shanahan) gave him a very good ride and gave him chance to settle because we knew they would go very quick. When he got him balanced he went forward.

'His main target will be the Railway Stakes. We´ll have a discussion and Ascot will be in our plans but as to which race I don´t know.'
