Daliapour ride for Egan

John Egan has been handed the mount on Daliapour in the HK10million Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin on Sunday, it was revealed today.

Egan has had a successful first season in Hong Kong and is clearly delighted to get the ride on the Coronation Cup and Hong Kong Vase winner.

'I am thrilled. I`ve watched him in all his races and I have always been impressed,' the jockey said.

'I think he`s back to the racing weight that saw him win the Hong Kong Vase in December.'

Meanwhile, Shane Dye is pleased with the progress of Helene Vitality in the build-up to the Group One event.

The five-year-old was sent off favourite for last month`s Hong Kong Derby but could only finish third behind Industrial Pioneer.

'He`s as good as he`s been all season,' the New Zealand rider said.

'He was all set for the Derby but the wet track did not suit him.

'The Derby form has yet to be tested but he`s got as good a chance as any of the Hong Kong horses.'
