Daly To Visit Recovering Man

Henry Daly plans to check on the condition of top-class hurdler Mighty Man in the next few days.

Mighty Man was reported in the spring to be almost certainly facing retirement and while Daly refused to make any assurances on the seven-year-old's future, he is doing some light exercise.

The gelding ruptured a superficial flexor tendon on his off foreleg when in the process of running a big race at Punchestown in April and subsequently underwent stem-cell treatment.

Mighty Man had earlier thrashed Black Jack Ketchum and Inglis Drever in the Liverpool Hurdle and was only just beaten by the latter in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham.

'I really don't know what is happening with him but hopefully I am going to see him this weekend,' said the Shropshire trainer.

'Obviously he had the stem-cell treatment but I haven't seen him for three months.

'He's been out in Leicestershire and I do know he has been ridden and has been swimming, but I won't know any more until I see him.'
