Decisions left open on St Leger runners

With the Irish and English St Legers clashing on Saturday, it is not surprising that all but one of the six Irish acceptors for the Doncaster classic are also engaged in the Curragh version.

Aidan O`Brien can pick between Milan, Mediterranean, Saddler`s Creek and Life Match for Doncaster, with John Oxx`s Pugin and the Dermot Weld-trained Vinnie Roe other possibles.

No decision will be made until at least today about which of Aidan O`Brien`s raiding party will travel.

A decision will be made later in the week over which race Pugin goes for. The stable reports preparations are 'going fine' for his next attempt, following his fourth to Galileo in the Irish Derby and second behind Vinnie Roe in a Listed race, also at the Curragh.

Meanwhile, Godolphin - on the crest of a wave after the successes of Fantastic Light over O`Brien`s Galileo at Leopardstown on Saturday and Slickly at Longchamp on Sunday - are represented at Doncaster by Alunissage, who won a maiden race at Lingfield by 15 lengths.
