Dispol Evita appeal successful

Trainer Andrew Reid today won his appeal over the controversial decision by the Lingfield Stewards to demote Dispol Evita from first place in the seller at the English track on Tuesday.

The three-year-old filly was relegated to second after the local stewards felt that the accidental interference she had caused to Battle Line inside the final furlong had improved her position.

However, the Disciplinary Committee of the Jockey Club overturned the decision, placing Dispol Evita first and Battle Line second.

The 4-5 favourite had appeared to run out a comfortable half-a-length winner of the one-mile contest in the hands of Martin Dwyer from Jimmy Fortune`s mount Battle Line.
