Dobbin Should Be Fit For Aintree

Kim Bailey appears to have been saved from a potentially tricky situation after learning that Tony Dobbin expects to be fit to ride Longshanks in the John Smith's Grand National on Saturday.

Bailey had been quick to snap up the services of the top northern-based rider for the 10-year-old after Jason Maguire was snapped up to partner Idle Talk for Donald McCain Jr.

But connections suffered a late scare when Dobbin, riding Cloudy Lane in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Monday, was brought down at the third last with initial reports suggesting he had broken his arm.

However, Bailey has received a positive bulletin regarding his big-race pilot and preparations are now in full swing.

'Tony Dobbin has been passed fit and he will be riding at Aintree on Thursday,' said Bailey.

'Longshanks is fine. We had the television cameras here on Tuesday morning and it's all systems go for Saturday.'
