Dobbin to partner Barrow Tony Dobbin has picked up a useful spare ride on Point Barrow for Saturday´s John Smith´s Grand National. Dobbin, who took the Aintree spectacular on Lord Gyllene in 1997, agreed to ride the 2006 Irish Grand National hero only on Monday night. "I got a phone call yesterday, saying the horse was going spare if I was interested," said Dobbin on Tuesday. "It is a good ride. He was fancied last year, unfortunately he came down at the first (fence) but he´s an Irish National winner. "He´s a spring horse, I´ve heard good vibes about him and hopefully he´ll give me a good ride." The 10-year-old, trained by Pat Hughes, was sent off 8-1 co-favourite last April only to fall early.
