Double for Russell at Tipperary Jockey Davy Russell recorded a double at Tipperary this evening, partnering winners for Philip Rothwell and Colm Murphy. Russell opened his account with The God Of Love in the opening Tipperary Town Maiden Hurdle, prompting winning trainer to mention "I´ve no immediate plans for the horse but I must thank his owners (Gigginstown House Stud - Michael & Eddie O´Leary) who have been brilliant to me. Following the death of their Call Bewleys last Winter, they sent me this horse as a replacement and now all three horse I have trained for them have now won." Two hours later Russell was on board Colm Murphy´s Clew Bay Lodge, who made a winning debut in the Tipperary Town and District Beginners Chase. Murphy later mentioned "Clew Bay Lodge hops off that ground and is something to look forward to over the summer. We´ll look for a winners´ race with him next."
