Dubawi Ready For Curragh Classic Dubawi pleased trainer Saeed Bin Suroor in a piece of work yesterday and is on course for the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh on May 21. The highly-regarded son of Dubai Millennium disappointed when finishing fifth in the Newmarket version at the end of last month having been sent off the 11-8 favourite. He had previously been unbeaten in three starts as a juvenile, and Bin Suroor attributes his Guineas defeat to the quick ground and the fact that he hung left in the latter stages. 'Dubawi cantered this morning (Sunday) and we were very happy with him,' the Godolphin handler told the Racing Post. 'He´s healthy and sound and seems to have come out of the Guineas in really good form. 'We were obviously disappointed that he couldn´t show the ability we´re sure he has, but that was due only to the very fast ground. 'If he´d run straight instead of going off to his left, he would have been at least close to the winner - and we´re certain he can still win nice races. 'He has shown before that he doesn´t always use all his concentration, but I don´t have any doubt that he´ll be much more focussed in his next race. 'We´re aiming, at this stage, to run him in Ireland and, all being well, I expect that to be the plan.' ? PA Sport
