Dwyer Handed Regime Ride

Martin Dwyer will team up with his Vodafone Derby mount Regime in a spin around Epsom tomorrow.

Dwyer, who partnered Sir Percy to victory in the blue riband event 12 months ago, has picked up the plum ride on Michael Bell´s colt as Jamie Spencer is sidelined due to a suspension.

The rider claimed last year´s Derby aboard Sir Percy and also tasted Classic success when Casual Look won the 2003 Oaks.

'Martin Dwyer will ride Regime in the Derby,' said Harry Herbert, racing manager of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, who own the three-year-old.

'He knows his way around Epsom very well and he has ridden an Oaks winner and a Derby winner so he rides the track very well.

'Regime will go to Epsom on Thursday with Martin on board to have a spin around Tattenham Corner.

'We think he is going in to the race underrated as we have always thought the world of him. He ran a big race in the Goffs Million and might have won if he was on the other side.

'He is a horse that is uncomplicated really and we are very hopeful. It is such a thrill to have a runner, never mind a horse that we think might be good enough to run a very big race.'
