Emmpat On Course For Swinton

Charlie Swan is relieved that the confusion over Emmpat´s participation in the Betfred Swinton Handicap Hurdle has been cleared up.

The nine-year-old was originally entered in the Betfredcasino Long Distance Handicap Hurdle on the same card after an administrative error by Horse Racing Ireland.

However, the problem has now been solved and Swan hopes his charge can add to his recent victory in the Scottish Champion Hurdle in Haydock´s two-mile feature this Saturday.

'I don´t know what happened with the entry. Something went wrong somewhere but it is all sorted out now. We entered him in the right race,' said Swan.

'He´s a real classy horse and he won over a mile and a quarter and a mile and a half for us last year and he likes quick ground.

'I might even send him back on the Flat to contest the John Smith´s Cup after Saturday´s race,' he told At The Races.

'He´s very well and I couldn´t be happier with the horse. Just as long as the rain stays away he will have a big chance.'

Emmpat is the current 9-2 favourite with the sponsors.
