Ennis Plans Jersey Assault Frank Ennis is set to make a two-pronged attack on Wednesday´s Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot with Ferneley and Confuchias. Both horses are out to redeem their reputations after finishing down the field in the Irish 2000 Guineas.Ferneley had previously shown smart form, including when third to Teofilo and Eagle Mountain in the Group Two Futurity Stakes at the Curragh last summer.Although he failed to fire in the colts´ Classic, he is reported to be in tip-top shape for next week´s Group Three contest over seven furlongs.'Ferneley ran disappointingly in the Guineas but he´s back to his best now,' said Ennis.'Things didn´t go right for him in the first half of the race, but he´s really well in himself again.'Ennis has booked Ted Durcan, who won the Vodafone Oaks on Light Shift, for Ferneley but the Curragh trainer is still seeking a jockey for Confuchias.'I´ve not sorted out a jockey for Confuchias yet, but he´s also in very good form,' Ennis continued.Ennis also hopes to have a third runner at next week´s five-day Festival in the shape of Dal Cais.'He´s in the Britannia. He´s in very good form and I hope he gets in the race,' he said.Ennis had a fourth possible Royal Ascot runner in Gee Kel, but she will not take up either of her two entries in the Sandringham Handicap or the Wokingham Stakes.Instead, she will stay nearer to home by running in the Charleville Cheese Race at Cork on Sunday.'She´s in good form,' Ennis added.(C) PA Sport
