Envoy Scratched From Cleeve Line-Up

Special Envoy has been ruled out of Saturday's Byrne Group Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham following a dirty scope.

However, his stable companion Serabad has been given a clean bill of health and is set to be trainer Peter Bowen's first runner for two weeks in the Wragge & Co Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.

'Special Envoy doesn't run. He scoped badly. He's not coughed, but it wasn't good enough,' said Bowen.

'I'll leave him for a fortnight then we'll have another look.

'Serabad is in good order and he runs in the juvenile hurdle.'

Bowen's yard at Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire has been under a cloud with a bout of coughing which came to light after Souffleur ran disappointingly at Warwick on January 12.
