Eustace Team Leaning Towards Champion

Hardy Eustace is likely to stick to two miles and tackle the ACCBank Champion Hurdle at Punchestown this week.

The Dessie Hughes-trained 10-year-old also has the option of the three-mile Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa Champion Stayers´ Hurdle, in which old adversary Brave Inca will test his stamina.

Hughes stresses no firm decision has yet been made, but says Hardy Eustace is more likely to take on Champion Hurdle winner Sublimity again over the shorter trip on Friday.

'I think we´ll probably leave him at two miles for this year,' Hughes said.

'I´d be leaning towards the Champion Hurdle with him but we´ll just need to see what will be in the other races really.

'He´s been fine since Cheltenham and he´s in good form. He did run well there but he just didn´t quite run up to scratch so hopefully he´s freshened up now.'
