FRENCH RAID FOR GORSE AND TOMBA

Mudlarks Gorse and Tomba represent Britain in the Group Three Prix de Ris-Orangis over six furlongs at Deauville tomorrow.

The Henry Candy-trained Gorse, still engaged in Thursday's Darley July Cup at Newmarket, will be ridden by Gerald Mosse as he bids to go one better than when second in the Holsten-Trophy at Hamburg on his latest start.

Michael Jarvis' Tomba (Olivier Peslier) also ran in Germany last time out, finishing seventh of nine in a Group Three event at Baden-Baden.

Their opponents in a field of seven include ex-British filly Khasayl, who won the ntl Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar for the now-retired Peter Walwyn last year.

She won a Listed race at Chantilly last month on her debut for John Hammond, who won this contest with Keos last season.
