Fallon edges closer to title

Kieren Fallon extended his lead to nine over Kevin Darley in the championship race with a win on Common World at Catterick today but he is taking no chances in his bid to regain the title.

The Turf season ends at Doncaster on Saturday and three times champion Fallon reasoned: 'I am happy with the way things are going, but it is not over yet.

'I have some good rides at Musselburgh tomorrow and at Windsor on Thursday and then I will be at Doncaster on Friday and Saturday.'

He was taking his score to 164, with reigning champion Darley on 155 as far as the title race is concerned.
